Video

After a successful launch of their 20th Anniversary Video, the Downtown Alliance came back to us to create a new series of short videos, and we think this Anthem piece is the best of the bunch. It features Lower Manhattan’s own Questlove walking us through all the ways in which his neighborhood is new again. With assets created over the course of 14 days, this :90 piece (and the 2:00 cut we also created) packs a lot of visual experience into a tight package. The :90 anchors the Downtown Alliance’s website, and :15 and :10 cutdowns were used for seatback content on United and Virgin, for New York Taxi TV and a cable television media buy. Once again, we are incredibly proud and privileged to be given the chance to tell this amazing story of rebirth!

Created for a boutique hotel in Portland OR, this piece offers a short love story, what travel together can feel like inside and out.

BayWa re is making a big difference, every day. While we can all foster change with the decisions we make at home and at work, BayWa re is focused on moving the needle on a large scale. We created this anthem as a way to express this scalable philosophy. It’s what drives their commitment to rolling back climate change by shepherding through the design, construction and maintenance of massive power generation installations for mid-cap and large-cap companies throughout the Americas.

This second video in our Downtown Alliance “Pairings” project showcases Daniel Boulud’s newest creation, “Patisserie Boulud” in Lower Manhattan’s Oculus. Chef Boulud then invites to visit his friend Wolfgang Puck’s “Cut” steak restaurant a few blocks away, where he and Executive Chef Raymond Weber take us on a tour of Cut’s stunning kitchen and dining room, as well as selections from their menu. It’s all a part of Lower Manhattan’s continued growing dining community!

Fish sauce is an essential ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine, and Red Boat Fish Sauce is the world’s best. So, we were thrilled when culinary product developer Betsy Fox and Redboat Founder Cuong Pham appealed to us to create a movie celebrating this amazing product. Our travels through Saigon and Phu Quoc offered incredible sea-to-table insight into how this product is made and how Vietnamese culture values the indescribable umami that Red Boat has to offer. We look forward to watching as Red Boat’s appeal grows into the broader market and becomes an essential ingredient in other cuisines as well!

Another exploration of the burgeoning Lower Manhattan restaurant community… Tom and Gail walk through this exciting new property, talk menus and culture, and toast to the blending of new and old that defines so much of what Lower Manhattan is all about.

Jean-Georges Vongerichten has been an international culinary titan for decades. His latest restaurant, The Fulton, draws on his first experiences shopping for fresh seafood at the Fulton Fish Market back in the 1970s. It’s located a stone’s throw from that market, right on the waterfront at Pier 17, and offers dayboat fare with Jean-George’s unmistakable elegance and inventiveness. As always, the Downtown Alliance has chosen to highlight a true genius, and we were lucky enough to capture the space, interview Jean-George — and enjoy the dishes he created for our cameras! Lower Manhattan continues to evolve and fluoresce, and we’re proud to be invited by the DA to tell that story.

Building on their legacy as one of America’s premier art colleges, VCUArts in Richmond VA commissioned the design and construction of an Institute for Contemporary Art and committed to placing this hallmark structure in the heart of Richmond, at the corner of Broad and Belvedere. This movie tells the story of the ICA’s conception, design and construction, with a particular focus on how a museum can fully engage the community at multiple levels. As architect Chris McVoy says, ultimately the measure of a building is the experience of the people in it.”

This piece was the first project we did and it really set the tone for Milkbox’s collaborative process. Andrew had worked with Jim for many years during his time as a partner at Pentagram. Shortly before we shot this, Jim moved his practice to offices in the Woolworth Building, and there was definitely a story to tell here. With a small and tightly knit staff, Jim’s office handles a limited number of high-profile projects with a degree of personal attention that only a small firm can offer.

Created for a revolutionary new fitness product, this video was designed to entice investors and inspire customers. A combination of live action footage and graphic overlays conveys the essence of what Om Chi has to offer and how it was developed.

This piece was conceived as a window into the life of a late 19th century scientist and the ghost presence that haunts his world. Shot in Long Island City at the Metropolitan Building with set decoration by Carolyn Cartwright and props from the collection of Eli Buk. Shortly after shooting this piece, we learned that Eli had passed away due to heart complications. The piece is dedicated to him. He was a true gentleman and a scholar.

The Downtown Alliance commissioned us to create an anthem video celebrating 20 years of vision, service and hard work. With roots in the civic mission of David Rockefeller, the Alliance has been instrumental in transforming Lower Manhattan into a vibrant place to live and work. It was a pleasure and a privilege to tell such a remarkable story about a city we love, and meeting so many luminaries made it so much better.

After a two week photography shoot at this landmark Philadelphia hotel, it became clear to the marketing team that a short video was needed to truly tell the story of all that the Logan has to offer. We loosely scripted a story around two groups arriving at the hotel, one traveling for business and one for pleasure, and how they enjoyed all the amenities the property has to offer.

No crazy stories for this one… Just lots of time spent capturing a master baker creating one of the staples of the bakery, a lemon layer cake. This gave us a chance to work with food, focusing on the texture, color and beauty of handmade baked goods, and the charm of a growing local business.
